What we collect, why, and your choices.

Who we are

Reptile Supplies (reptile-supplies.shop) is operated by Square Sides, the data controller for this site. Contact us through our contact form.

What we collect

  • Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are useful. In the UK, EU and Switzerland it only runs if you accept analytics cookies. Elsewhere it runs by default; you can switch it off at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer, and we treat a browser Global Privacy Control signal as an opt-out. Separately, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) sends Microsoft Clarity a copy of its server request logs (for each request: the time, page address, IP address, browser and device details, and response code) so we can see how search engines and AI crawlers access the site. This happens for every request, without cookies and regardless of your cookie choice, because it is needed to understand and manage automated traffic; we rely on our legitimate interest in running and protecting the site. Microsoft processes these logs under its own privacy statement. We do not set advertising cookies ourselves.
  • eBay listings. Some pages show current eBay listings through the eBay Partner Network. eBay's own script (from epnt.ebay.com) loads them, and eBay may set its own cookies and receive technical data such as your IP address and the page you are on, to show the listings and track referrals. In the UK, EU and Switzerland the script only loads if you accept eBay listings in the cookie banner. Elsewhere it loads by default; you can switch it off with the Cookie settings link in the footer, and we treat a browser Global Privacy Control signal as an opt-out. eBay's privacy notice applies to what eBay collects.
  • Hosting. Our host, Cloudflare, processes technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver and secure the site, and provides cookie-free Web Analytics.
  • Contact form. If you write to us, we receive your name (optional), email address and message by email, and keep them only to reply and to fix any issue you report. A one-way hash of your IP address is held for one hour to limit spam.

We have no user accounts, take no payments and never sell personal data.

Cookies

  • Necessary: remembers your cookie choice.
  • Analytics (optional where consent is required): Google Analytics cookies named _ga and _ga_*.
  • eBay listings (optional where consent is required): cookies eBay sets on its own domains when the eBay Partner Network script shows listings on our pages.
  • Partner cookies: when you click through to a retailer such as eBay, that retailer may set its own cookies to track the referral. Their privacy policies apply.

You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.

Legal bases

We rely on consent for analytics and eBay listings in the UK, EU and Switzerland, and on legitimate interests elsewhere and for security logs.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, object to processing, or withdraw consent. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (UK) or your local data protection authority (EU).

Retention

Analytics data is kept for 14 months. Messages are kept for as long as needed to deal with them.
